CS2 women’s team has reignited the debate over gender representation in video games. They publicly appealed to Valve Corporation to introduce default free female characters in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2). This request has sparked heated discussions within the gaming and esports communities.
The female team members argue that default male characters in CS2 may deter women from playing. They highlight that while male characters are free, female characters require additional purchases. “We believe that having default free female characters will encourage more women to join the game. At the very least, it will make current female players feel more accepted,” stated one of the team members.
