Inferno is one of the most iconic maps in Counter-Strike 2 (
CS2), featuring a Mexican-style small town with rich details and tactical opportunities. To achieve victory on this map, players must skillfully combine shooting accuracy, strategic planning, and teamwork. In this blog, we’ll delve into the layout of Inferno, explore its key areas, and provide detailed strategies for both Terrorists (T-side) and Counter-Terrorists (CT-side).
Inferno is divided into three main areas: Mid, Apartments, and Sewers.
Mid is the heart of the map, connecting the spawn points of both the Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists. It is a hotspot for early and intense confrontations. The area is filled with various cover and elevation changes, providing opportunities for both defense and ambush.
Located on the left side of the map, the Apartments area consists of a series of interconnected houses with complex sightlines and choke points. Players can use this area for stealthy movements and ambushes. The red door at the entrance of the Apartments provides a direct route to Mid.
On the right side of the map, the Sewers is a dark, narrow passage that leads directly to the Counter-Terrorists’ spawn point. This area is perfect for surprise attacks and rapid flanking maneuvers.
As Terrorists, you have multiple routes and strategies to choose from based on your weapons and overall game plan.
For a direct confrontation, head towards Mid. Utilize the high ground and cover to engage in firefights and throw grenades. This route is ideal for players who prefer head-to-head combat and quick engagements.
For a more tactical approach, choose the Apartments route. Use the complex sightlines and choke points to your advantage for stealthy movements and ambushes. This route allows you to flank the enemy and catch them off guard.
If you aim to surprise the enemy from behind, opt for the Sewers route. This narrow passage allows for quick and unexpected attacks, enabling you to break through enemy lines and reposition rapidly.
Regardless of the chosen route, always be vigilant of enemy positions and movements. Adjust your strategy and coordinate with teammates to maximize your effectiveness.
As Counter-Terrorists, your goal is to defend against the Terrorists’ advances. Your strategy will depend on the routes the enemies choose.
If the enemies are pushing through Mid, use the high ground and cover to engage them. Utilize grenades to disrupt their movements and hold your ground. Additionally, you can use the entrance to the Sewers for counter-attacks and flanking maneuvers.
If the enemies are advancing through the Apartments, use the sightlines and choke points to your advantage. Set up ambushes and use the red door at the entrance for quick rotations. This area allows for effective defense through strategic positioning and surprise attacks.
Inferno in CS2 offers a rich and complex battlefield that requires a blend of shooting skills, strategic planning, and teamwork. By understanding the map layout and employing the right strategies, both Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists can gain significant advantages.
